Max and Marla Are Having a Picnic - Upcoming Book Events

Wait. Wait…wait! My goodness, what an exciting month! MAX AND MARLA ARE HAVING A PICNIC is almost (and finally) ready to celebrate its very own book birthday on March 27. This is the second book about two best friends, which I wrote and illustrated.
😊Here is some of the praise they have already received:
“Each cartoon block is simple perfection…A gentle lesson on dealing with adversity and celebrating friendship.” – School Library Journal
“A nighttime picnic on the bedroom floor is cozy and friendly–and a saving moment for the friendship. Simple and emotionally resonant.” – Kirkus
“Boiger’s watercolor scenes are filled with small, endearing details that suggest a world in miniature. With subtle emotion, she expresses the negative feelings that can stew between friends following a disappointment. The absence of any adults—or anyone else, for that matter—gives these two characters a sweetly appealing independence. – Publishers Weekly

Please join us to celebrate MAX AND MARLA ARE HAVING A PICNIC  at any of these events:
This will be an event to launch the book! Some fun introduction, a book reading, cake and hot cocoa, an extra-fun Max and Marla arts and craft activity for children designed and lead by Amelia Strader @Gogo Craft and a raffle with a special Max and Marla surprise prize. And of course, I’ll be signing books! Come, bring your children, friends and family, and listen, mingle, enjoy the good company at this beautiful independent book store in the Bay Area.

FB live chat together with the wonderful Jill Santopolo, editor of She Persisted and She Persited Around the World

I came back on Monday from a visit to New York, where I joined Chelsea Clinton and our editor Jill Santopolo at the Brooklyn Library for a special book event. Thank you so much to everybody who came, and everybody who helped setting it all up. During my trip I also visited the Penguin office. The wonderful Jill Santopolo (editor of She Persisted and She Persisted Around the World) interviewed me there during a live FB chat. Here we go!
